If you have a UK photocard driving licence, we’ll use this to verify your identity.
We’ll ask you to take a selfie and photos of both sides of your driving licence, preferably using your phone’s camera.
We’ll then compare the registration details you’ve given us against your driving licence, and your selfie against the photo on it, to verify your identity. This is done automatically and usually takes less than a minute.
Once we’ve verified your identity, your registration will be completed.
If you don’t have a UK photocard driving licence, or we cannot match your selfie with your driving licence, we’ll ask you some verification questions.
These questions will be based on your credit file.
If you answer these questions correctly, your registration will be completed.
If you don’t have a UK photocard driving licence and you can’t answer the verification questions correctly, we can use a different photo ID, such as a passport, to verify your identity.
If we can’t verify your identity by any of the above means, please don’t worry! Just continue until you reach the end of the process. One of our team will then personally review your photo ID check. They’ll either approve your registration for you, or contact you to ask for further information.
